T3 in endgame — punished by mobile bosses (Ult AoE small). Skip for endgame. Fine for exploration.
Skia is a Lakshana/Gas Sub DPS built around shadow control and stealth-based auto-pursuit. Her Fang Thrust delivers rapid hits from the shadows, and her Redirect from stealth enables repositioning that standard characters cannot perform. She lands at T3 in competitive content — specifically penalized by boss mobility in Boss Rush — but performs well in exploration and open-world content where her stealth access and AoE mobility matter more.
How to Play
Skia’s kit has three distinct mechanics working together:
Shadow Control: Skia can enter a shadow state through certain skill activations. While shadowed, she auto-pursues targets with Fang Thrust, a rapid multi-hit sequence that deals Lakshana damage. The auto-pursuit mechanic reduces the manual input required to maintain DPS during boss movement, which is normally a strength — except when boss hitboxes move faster than Fang Thrust’s tracking radius.
Tailed Debuff: Applying the “Tailed” status to enemies increases the damage they take from Skia’s attacks. The Resolution awakening doubles the duration of Tailed, extending the window significantly and making it easier to maintain the debuff through boss phase transitions.
Redirect from Stealth: Skia’s Redirect activates from shadow state, repositioning her instantly to the target. This provides mobility that most Sub DPS characters lack, making her feel significantly more fluid in exploration and open-world combat.
The endgame problem: Skia’s Ultimate AoE radius is small. Against mobile bosses that frequently reposition — the dominant enemy archetype in Boss Rush and high-difficulty content — Skia’s Ult regularly misses or partially hits. This is the primary reason she drops to T3 in endgame despite a mechanically interesting kit.
Awakening choice:
| Option | Effect | When to Choose |
|---|---|---|
| Process of Elimination | Fang Thrust DMG ratio up | If using Skia in team-fight scenarios with consistent pursuit triggers |
| Resolution | Doubles Tailed duration | If Skia needs to cover longer fight phases without reapplying the debuff |
This is a genuine choice rather than a clear winner — the correct pick depends on your content type. For exploration (shorter fights, multiple small enemies), Process of Elimination maximizes Fang Thrust burst. For longer boss fights where Tailed needs to persist through repositioning phases, Resolution is more reliable.
Stat priority:
- ATK% is the dominant stat — Fang Thrust’s hit count means raw ATK multiplies quickly
- CRIT Rate secondary — each Fang Thrust hit crit-checks independently, so even moderate CRIT Rate generates visible improvements
Endgame targets: ATK 2,400+, CRIT Rate 50%+.
Arc: Use the highest-stat Lakshana/Gas Arc available with ATK% as the sub-stat. No specific signature Arc exists for Skia at launch.
Best Teams
Exploration and Open World: Skia pairs well with any Main DPS in exploration content. Her shadow control and Redirect from stealth provide constant repositioning to stay on scattered enemies. Pair with Haniel for ATK buff and any Healer or Tank for survivability. The exact roster is flexible — Skia’s value in exploration is her mobility, not reaction synergies.
Skia does not have a dedicated endgame competitive team slot at launch. Her Lakshana element currently has limited reaction pairing options at launch rarity levels, and her small Ult radius is too punishing for Boss Rush teams that already have access to Daffodill, Nanally, or Jiuyuan.
If you must include Skia in endgame: Pair with characters that can root or slow mobile bosses to let Skia’s Ult land. This reduces her penalty from boss mobility but depends on having a Control character in the roster.
Worth Pulling?
Skia is T3 in the endgame tier list and explicitly not recommended for Boss Rush or high-difficulty competitive content. The small Ult AoE is a fundamental limitation that her awakening nodes do not address.
For players focused exclusively on exploration and story content, Skia is enjoyable to use and performs adequately. Her stealth mechanics and auto-pursuit give her a distinct playstyle that is rewarding in open-world contexts.
For competitive players, skip Skia and redirect those pull resources toward Daffodill (T1 Break), Jiuyuan (T1 Sub DPS), or Fadia (T2 Tank). See the full tier list for a complete comparison of Sub DPS options and visit the teams guide for recommended endgame compositions that do not include Skia.
