Worth pulling?
Top standard-banner DPS, S-tier. A2 grants team heal + Rose Pact damage boost. Strongly recommended F2P pick.
Jiuyuan is the premier standard-banner Sub DPS in NTE, operating as an Anima/Solid attacker whose Rose Pact mechanic rewards precise rotation timing with a meaningful damage multiplier. She sits firmly in T1 at launch and is a top pick for anyone using the S-Class Selector on the standard banner.
How to Play
Jiuyuan’s core identity is the Rose Pact — a stance that amplifies her damage output when triggered correctly during rotation windows. The A2 awakening adds a passive team heal alongside the Rose Pact bonus, making her a rare Sub DPS who contributes both offense and minor sustain. This dual value is why she ranks above other standard Anima units.
Arc comparison:
| Arc | Key Effect | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Day Off | +30% ATK; Ult kill restores Ult Energy | Best in slot — high ATK floor + energy loop |
| Standard Anima Solid | Varies by specific Arc | Use if Day Off unavailable |
Day Off is Jiuyuan’s clear BiS. The +30% ATK bonus applies directly to Rose Pact’s damage window, and the energy restoration on kill keeps her Ultimate cycling in multi-target content like Blossom Rush stages. On standard banner she competes for the same Arc pool as Esper Zero, so prioritize Day Off if you’re building Jiuyuan as your primary Sub DPS.
Stat priority explained: CRIT Rate first because Rose Pact’s follow-up hits crit-check independently. Once you reach 65–70% CRIT Rate, shift investment to CRIT DMG. ATK% fills remaining slots. Aim for:
- CRIT Rate: 65%+
- CRIT DMG: 120%+
- ATK: 2,400+
Awakening order: A2 is mandatory — it unlocks the team heal and extends the Rose Pact damage window by one extra hit. A3 tightens the Pact activation window, reducing rotation risk. A4 adds a flat Anima DMG% bonus. A5 and A6 are quality-of-life improvements but not priority.
The Anima DMG module set is the strongest option for Jiuyuan in endgame content because Rose Pact multiplies off base Anima DMG%, meaning the set bonus compounds on top of her natural burst window rather than just boosting auto-attack damage.
Best Teams
Blossom Rush (main comp): Jiuyuan / Nanally / Haniel / Esper Zero. Jiuyuan’s Anima damage feeds the Blossom reaction alongside Nanally’s attacks. Haniel provides ATK buff uptime through Hootie, while Esper Zero rotates in during downtime. See the Esper Zero build for the protagonist’s specific sub-role in this comp. Full rotation notes are in the teams guide.
Scorch DoT: Jiuyuan / Sakiri / Baicang / Adler. Here Jiuyuan provides Anima damage ticks that can trigger secondary Scorch reactions from Baicang’s DoT stacks. Sakiri’s buffer role (see Sakiri build) amplifies everyone’s ATK, including Jiuyuan’s Rose Pact window. Adler shields to keep Baicang’s self-damage mechanic from being interrupted.
The key rotation principle in both comps: activate Jiuyuan’s Rose Pact before switching to the Main DPS so the buff overlaps with their damage window.
Worth Pulling?
Jiuyuan is the single best Sub DPS on the standard banner at launch. Her A2 (team heal + damage boost) elevates her above a pure damage dealer into a utility/damage hybrid that most teams appreciate having. For F2P players, she’s an excellent S-Class Selector pick if you already have a Main DPS covered.
Spending limited pulls targeting Jiuyuan on a featured rate-up is also justified — she belongs in virtually every Anima team and holds T1 even as future characters release. Check the current tier list for the latest rankings, and review the Blossom Rush team page for the exact comp she enables at maximum efficiency.
