T1 break specialist. Discord/Nova trigger for boss teams. Pull if doing endgame Boss Rush.

Daffodill is NTE’s premier Break specialist — a Chaos/Liquid attacker whose Insight stack mechanic passively lowers the enemy break threshold by 10% while active. In endgame Boss Rush content where break cycles determine how quickly bosses enter vulnerable phases, that 10% reduction translates directly into more stagger windows per fight and higher overall team DPS.

How to Play

Daffodill’s gameplay revolves around maintaining Insight stacks through her plunge attacks and aerial combos. Each Insight stack amplifies her Break DMG output, and reaching maximum stacks before a break attempt is the single most important skill expression in her kit. Losing stacks prematurely — from mistimed swaps or missed plunges — is the primary source of underperformance.

Insight stack loop:

  1. Enter aerial position using Daffodill’s jump cancel or skill launch
  2. Execute plunge combo to build Insight stacks
  3. Trigger enemy break state at max Insight for maximum A4 bonus
  4. Do not swap out until the stagger window is fully consumed

Break threshold reduction: Daffodill’s passive 10% break threshold reduction means enemies that normally require 100 Break DMG to stagger only need 90 when she is in the party. In timed content, this is equivalent to roughly one additional stagger per 60-second fight.

Awakening priority:

NodeEffectPriority
A3Prevents Insight stack wipe on taking damage; grants 3 starting Insight layersMandatory — protects your stack investment
A4Adds 15% Break DMG per Insight stack on Break-state targetsCore damage amplifier
A5Further Insight-related improvementsSecondary
A6Ignores 15% enemy DEF during break stateStrong but lower priority than A3/A4

A3 is the most important early investment — without it, a single enemy hit wipes your entire Insight stack, which is devastating in aggressive boss encounters. A4 adds the primary damage payoff that makes high stacks worthwhile.

Stat priority:

  • Break DMG%: Primary — every percentage point amplifies the stagger window burst
  • ATK%: Secondary — base ATK scales Break DMG multiplicatively
  • CRIT: Tertiary — Daffodill’s break hits do crit, but crit is lower priority than break-specific bonuses

Endgame targets: Break DMG% 60%+, ATK 2,500+, CRIT Rate 45%+.

Module set: Use either a Break DMG set (if available in Daffodill’s Chaos/Liquid pool) or the Cosmos DMG set as a fallback. The break-specific sets deliver more value in boss content; DMG% sets are better for sustained mob clearing.

Arc: Use the top-ranked Chaos/Liquid Arc available from the current banner. Verify the specific best-in-slot against current banner offerings, as Chaos/Liquid Arcs rotate through pools. Prioritize any Arc that provides Break DMG% or ATK% as its sub-stat.

Best Teams

Bossing: Daffodill / Nanally / Sakiri / Fadia. Daffodill lowers the boss break threshold, enabling faster stagger cycles for Nanally’s amplified damage window. Sakiri’s ATK buff activates immediately after Ult, and Fadia provides the survivability needed to safely execute Daffodill’s aerial plunge combo. See Nanally’s build for the damage window timing and Fadia’s build for tank rotation. Full comp at /teams/.

Discord Control: Daffodill / Nanally / Sakiri / Adler. The Discord reaction (Chaos + Incantation) extends debuff durations on staggered enemies. Daffodill’s break sets up the Discord trigger window, and Adler’s Incantation DoT extends the reaction. This comp particularly excels in multi-phase boss fights where debuff extension compounds across phases.

Scorch DoT: Daffodill / Baicang / Sakiri / Adler. Here Daffodill’s role shifts slightly — she uses her break to enable Baicang’s below-5%-HP execute window more safely (a broken enemy deals reduced damage, giving Baicang time to sit in the execute range). See Baicang’s build for the execute mechanic specifics.

Worth Pulling?

Daffodill is the only Break specialist at T1 in the launch roster. If your team lacks a character who can reliably break enemy stagger gauges, she is the correct pull for that slot. She belongs in every Boss Rush team and is specifically required to trigger the Discord reaction in Discord Control compositions.

For players focused exclusively on Blossom Rush or Charged Loop (neither of which requires break mechanics), Daffodill is skippable. However, Boss Rush is one of the highest-reward endgame modes, and Daffodill is the character that makes it efficient.

Pull her if endgame bossing is your primary content focus. Check the tier list for her current standings across all content types and visit the teams page for the full bossing comp rotation.
